Cast / Extruded Acrylic
Types of METHACRYLATE - Features and applications
IRPEN S.A.U. has been dedicated to the production and sale of cast methacrylate for almost 60 years. As well as innovation within its sector, giving rise to different types of methacrylate, depending on market demand. In our METHACRYLATE portfolio we have the following qualities:
-Special LED for LED lighting
-HF High fluorescence of its colors
-AL Suitable for food use
-HD Maximum light diffusion
-HP High permeability to UVA radiation
-HT High temperature resistance
-HVR High resistance to UV radiation
-DS Sanitary use, easy to thermo-mold
-LT Low temperature resistance, low hardness
We have already talked about some of them on other occasions, in this article we will focus on those that, based on the light spectrum, acquire one or another characteristic, obtaining different optical or usage results. High Fluorescence HF has as its main characteristic the fluorescence of its colors when exposed to ultraviolet radiation. Policril HF absorbs radiation invisible to the human eye and is transformed into visible light, creating this intense coloring effect with bright and pure shades. It is especially useful for applications where you want to capture attention, enhance the design or seek a vivid and bright color image, such as: signage, advertising, signage, furniture, displays, etc.
High Diffusion HD has as its main characteristic its peculiar diffusion of light. In installations where the plates are illuminated laterally, very high and uniform luminosity values are obtained. In this graph we can see the increase in brightness of an HD plate versus one of the same thickness and color characteristics, but in normal quality.
Policril HD is especially recommended for applications where you want to enhance a bright and diaphanous image, such as double-sided signs, advertising, signage or street furniture. HP High Permeability UV has as its main characteristic its high permeability to UV radiation. In the area of 320-380 nn, the transmission is between 85 and 91%.
HP plates incorporate a treatment that allows transparency to UV radiation and at the same time protects them from the harmful action of this radiation. Polycyril HP plates can maintain their properties for 3,000 hours with little alteration. This material is specially developed for use in solariums and other installations that require a high permeability of UVA radiation.
HVR with high resistance to UV radiation. These plates are equipped with filters that provide total protection against UV radiation. They are completely waterproof for values between 200 and 400 nm. This quality makes HVR plates especially suitable for placing them before elements that wish to be protected from UV radiation, such as works of art, urns, shop windows, etc.
