Translucent Solid Surface
IROCRIL 4 mm - The ideal thermoformable solid surface for coatings
IROCRIL is a so-called “Solid Surface” material, made from minerals and acrylic resins. It stands out for being a homogeneous, resistant, versatile, easily manipulable material that can be thermoformed; ideal properties in the design process. IROCRIL, has a very low porosity and allows the creation of blind joints, qualities necessary in places where asepsis or high chemical resistance are essential, such as in the food industry, chemical industry, hospitals, hotels, pharmacies, etc.
There are several applications in which IROCRIL can be found:
-Bathroom countertops, kitchens, countertops.
-Hospital facilities.
-Clean rooms.
-Vertical or horizontal coatings.
-Receptions.
-Stands.
-Window dressing.
-Furniture.
-Signage.
-Facade cladding.
-Exterior decoration.
It has a 10-year warranty and a wide range of standard colors, and any color can be manufactured under minimum order. Its plate sizes range from: 2,490 mm x 760 mm to 3,630 mm x 910 mm, depending on color and thickness. We have IROCRIL in thicknesses of: 4 mm, 6 mm, 12 mm and 19 mm.
This time, as a novelty, we want to introduce you to the 4 mm IROCRIL, which, due to its thickness, weight and price characteristics, is an ideal candidate for wall cladding.
Within the IROCRIL Wall Cladding, this is the general information needed to adhere IROCRIL sheets to the wall:
-It is recommended to use neutral silicone.
-Leave in the corners: a gap of 1 mm for each linear meter and for each increase of 20ºC in temperature; space necessary for the expansion movement of the material.
-Clean the edges of the plates, as well as the two joining surfaces.
-Support the panels until the silicone hardens.
-IROCRIL sheets can be placed on the surface of different materials: plywood, tiles, on a slatted structure, etc.
How to carry out an installation on a slatted structure?
Below are the steps to carry out an installation on a slatted structure:
-The wooden slats are placed horizontally, approximately every 45 cm, along the wall surface and vertically, coinciding with the joint of the plates.
-A neutral silicone cord is applied along the slats.
-Once the silicone has been applied, the IROCRIL panel is firmly attached.
-To ensure the expansion joint between the panel and the floor, wedges measuring 1.5 to 3 mm are placed.
-To obtain the vertical expansion joint, as we have indicated above, 1 mm must be calculated for every 20ºC of temperature variation and per flat linear meter. This space will be divided between the two ends of the wall.
-Once the silicone has hardened (approximately 24 hours), the wedges are removed and the expansion joints are filled with neutral silicone.
-For a better finish, it is recommended to apply a molding to the corners and plinth on the floor, attached with neutral silicone. Think of IROCRIL for your projects.
