Information about the CE marking
On July 1, 2013, the new Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 came into force, establishing harmonized conditions for the commercialization of construction products. This regulation repeals the previous Council directive, and like its predecessor, orders the conditions relating to the introduction of construction products to the market, also defining the criteria for evaluating the performance of these products as well as the conditions for the use of the CE mark. So the marking CE is not a quality mark. The main objectives of CE marking are:
- Demonstrate the compliance of a product with respect to essential requirements established by the directive or directives that affect you. Requirements that refer to: aspects of safety, health, environmental protection and any other aspect of collective interest.
- Unify the criteria which must appear on the CE mark, to reduce trade barriers and at the same time guarantee a high level of security and protection of the public interest.
These requirements are established by a committee of experts, composed of manufacturers, importers, distributors, notified bodies and market surveillance authorities, who decide the fundamental aspects to highlight in each product and that must appear on the CE marking. Once all the common requirements that must appear on the CE marking of a product have been determined, the manufacturer must draw up:
- A technical file (technical documentation) containing sufficient information to demonstrate the conformity of the product in question (through test results, tests, drawings, calculations, etc.)
- The EC Declaration of Conformity, a document stating that the essential requirements of your product established in the standard (for example, dimensional tolerances, mechanical resistance, fire behavior, etc.) have been evaluated and verified in accordance with the analyses defined in that standard by an independent evaluation body.
Not all products must bear the CE mark, but only those that belong to the categories contemplated in the European directives that regulate it. In our case, with the entry into force on September 1 of the European product standard UNE-EN 1013:2012, replacing UNE 1013-2:1998, which requires all products that belong to the category to carry the CE mark: “Single-layer translucent profiled plastic plates for interior and exterior roofs, walls and ceiling”, in which there are:
Rovilux. Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester Plates.LC. Corrugated and corrugated compact polycarbonate sheets
