Design and safety - Original protective dividers
Little by little, the world is returning to a new normal where protection against the prevention of new infections of COVID-19 has become essential.
Therefore, as different countries overcome the most serious phases of the pandemic and people return to daily life, work and leisure spaces have been adapted according to the needs of the activity to be carried out on the premises.
There are all kinds of solutions to perform the division/separation function, some more standardized, such as typical desktop screens with transparent materials extensively covered in previous articles and others that are not so common.
In this post, we are going to focus on these latter, making a small compilation of less conventional solutions, in which designers and managers of spaces from all over the world have gone further, presenting and sometimes implementing divisions with all kinds of materials that combine safety, functionality and, above all, design.
These security partitions are of all kinds: hanging, fixed or mobile, including transparent elements that combine colors or translucent dividers that guarantee a certain amount of privacy.
Proposal by the airline Avio Interiors for the design of seats

Janus Model - Glassafe Model
The airline Avio presents us with two proposals that make it possible to preserve passenger safety, one more expensive and with a more futuristic design and the other more economical.
The first proposal is the Janus, in this option the central seat of the rows of three units is inverted and a transparent wrapper separates the users.
The second is Glassafe, which maintains the standardized seating structure in all companies by means of a transparent and lightweight earmuff attached to the seat, a transparent element, creates an insulating environment around the user.
Penguin Eat Shabu restaurant in Bangkok table division design
This time, this restaurant chain has installed a table division that combines originality, safety and functionality using white zigzagging PVC tubes and a hanging transparent plastic sheet.
This installation goes one step further and out of a necessity it makes a virtue, since the partition solution is integrated into the casual design of the restaurant and behaves like just another piece of furniture without a high economic cost.
