Usually, our customers usually find in our wide range of colors in Policril that shade that suits their needs. There are always times when, due to the specific requirements of a given project, they need a specific RAL and at Irpen we offer the possibility of counteracting that color and meeting their needs. The PMMA cast manufacturing process allows the production of sheets in relatively short runs. In this way, customized colors can be achieved by manufacturing a minimum quantity that adapts to the projects of our clients. Therefore, the number of plates will vary depending mainly on the following parameters:
- Of the requested color: translucent, opal or opaque.
- Of the finish: smooth, matte or double matte.
- From the specialty.
- Of the thickness.
Process of making a counterpartNext, as a brief summary, we will explain, in general terms, the process that our technicians carry out to manufacture a counterpart.
- Contribution of a color sample
Our customer provides us with a sample with the requested color. It must be said that the sample provided is always preferable to be in plastic support. Thus, certain parameters such as the incidence of light or the quality of the finish can be better adjusted, in a more precise way. Sometimes, it has also been possible to obtain the counterpart from less conventional supports such as fabrics or paper samples, to name a few examples. There is no problem in requesting a counterpart based on a specific RAL color.
- Rule out the existence of the color in our catalog
Once our technicians have the sample in the laboratory, they check if the color they are looking for matches any of those that already exist in our database. At this time, there may be two circumstances:
- There is a similar color and we give a sample to the requesting customer to evaluate this possibility, and if you think it is appropriate, accept this alternative.
- The colors included in our catalog are discarded and the counterpart is carried out. As we have previously announced, in this case the applicant must indicate the finishing and thickness characteristics he needs, in addition to the color.
- Countertop manufacturing over a period of approximately 4 weeks
With all the parameters determined, our laboratory technicians, over a period of approximately four weeks, deliver to our customer a small Polycyril plate of about 7.5 cm x 15 cm and 3 mm thick (not made in other thicknesses), with the requested shade.
- Acceptance of the sample
If the result has been satisfactory and the color is accepted by the customer, the customer is specified in placing the order of a minimum quantity, determined by color, thickness or other aspects. Then we proceed to make another small sample of Polycyril of about 7.5 cm x 15 cm of the specific thickness, because depending on the thickness there are characteristics that vary.
