In this month's article, we present some of the works done with our products. Marquesina (Canet de Mar - Barcelona) .Product: POLICRIL “M” (matte) finish on the inside and smooth on the outside, 10 mm thick and in several colors. We have chosen this work because of its design that perfectly adapts the available space to the recreational use that you want to give it. The designer, based on independent metal canopies and playing with attractive colors, manages to create a cheerful, attractive space that invites you to enjoy it.
We think that the most remarkable thing about the project are its canopies, which, playing with their different slopes, their different orientations and overlapping each other, create a lightweight cover that manages to cast shadows most of the day. Hanging methacrylate pieces help to emphasize the lightness of the solution. All parts are hung at 4 points and were laser cut to avoid cracks when loaded. The play of warm colors contrasting with blue and green give the project the cheerful and optimistic finishing touch that makes the project so attractive.
The chosen material, POLICRIL cast methacrylate, is ideal for this work because:
-Its excellent aging behavior
-Its ability to diffuse light.

Product: 40/500 Cellular Polycarbonate Panel System, 7 walls, 40 mm in opal color. The choice of this material has made it possible to provide the building with natural lighting that will provide it with significant energy savings. The property's need to cover a gap in the façade, which in its previous use left a free space of 6.35 m in height by 23.50 m in width, without sacrificing the entry of natural light, has made this façade cladding system possible this objective.
The peculiarity of this project is to close the space by assembling a lightweight metal structure, where the polycarbonate panels, 6.35 m long and 0.50 m wide, are assembled and fixed with a system developed for this material. With a thickness of only 40 mm, it is possible to create a lightweight façade enclosure that is easy to assemble as part of the building system. The choice of this material makes it possible to provide the project with:
-Aesthetics: Variety of colors and finishes
-Energy efficiency: Thermal insulation, natural lighting and sun protection.
-Functionality: Stability, weather resistance, sound insulation and good reaction to fire. Acoustic screens (Ronda de Dalt - Barcelona).
-Product: Compact polycarbonate. PC 05 Lexan Exell D 9.5 mm 2-sided UV treatment in various colors and PC 07 Lexan F-2000 flame retardant 6 mm thick and colorless.
The characteristic of this work was to provide natural light and ventilation in the covered part of this road, but at the same time to achieve the acoustic absorption produced by the high traffic of this artery that crosses the city. The light weight of the plates, less than half the weight of the glass, has made it possible to achieve noise attenuation and at the same time provide this project with a design that allows giving, both inside and outside, a more attractive image than that of a conventional skylight. The arrangement of the vertically placed panels, fixed to the metal structure, allows light to be sieved, giving color reflections to the interior space, and at the same time this arrangement of the plates allows the ventilation of this space by absorbing the noise produced by the continuous passage of vehicles.
The use of the color variation of the compact polycarbonate sheets, allows it to be integrated into the garden space at the top. This project includes in the lower part, close to the circulation area, a screen that requires a material with certain fire resistance classifications, which is why the range of PC 07 Lexan F-2000 compact polycarbonate sheets has been used. The main characteristic of this material, high impact resistance and practically unbreakable, make it suitable for this type of intervention: bridge railings on roads and highways, acoustic barriers...
It is for this reason that the choice of this material also makes it possible to provide the project with:

-Product: Cellular Polycarbonate Plates. Akyver AK 01 10 and 16 mm thick in Opal color.
This project, which uses cellular polycarbonate sheets as an interior coating, offers this space a fresh and dynamic style, allowing the separation of spaces and creating various environments, breaking the schemes of traditional residences, providing it, according to the needs of the program, with the required privacy. This material is used to cover both common spaces; rooms and cafeteria, as well as more private ones such as corridors and rooms, even lining the counters and false ceilings, thus giving uniformity to the spaces.
Cellular polycarbonate is a material that is more related to outdoor solutions, the use of this material in this project as a vertical interior coating helps to diffuse the light that enters through the windows, providing rooms with energy savings and greater use of light. In turn, allowing the backlighting coatings that give rooms a sense of diffused light at night. In this project, the use of polycarbonate sheets is related to their main characteristics.
